Swindon & Wiltshire Pride recruiting as local charity look to expand after success of Queens Park event.

Swindon & Wiltshire Pride are on the lookout for volunteers to fill vital committee roles as the Pride charity looks ahead to an even brighter 12 months.

The LGBTQ+ event has become one of the events of the summer in the Wiltshire calendar, and more than 6500 people attended the event on August 12th in Queens Park this year throughout the day.

Andy Midwinter, Social Media Manager, said “The committee worked so hard building upto Pride this year, and to see the park filled with so much positivity and happiness, it was one of our best Pride events yet!”

Work hasn’t finished yet for the summer though, as the volunteer committee are looking ahead to 2024 and are appealing to the local community to join the team.

Andy continued, “Now we want to appeal to anyone who wants to help make a difference by applying for one of the committee roles. These vacant roles are vital to ensure we’re able to continue the work we do, and to enable us to put on a Pride event next year.”

Roles include Chairperson, Vice-chair, Trustee, Social Media, Deputy Treasurer, Deputy Volunteer Manager and Stalls Manager. For more information about the roles and how to apply head to www.swindonwiltshirepride.co.uk/joinpride.
