MEET THE 2020 PRIDE COMMITTEE
Being chair of Swindon & Wiltshire Pride 2020 makes me very proud. 2020 will be the 12th Event in Swindon & Wiltshire.
This achievement has been made possible by all the dedicated committee members (past and present), volunteers, the community, sponsors and so many more, that have avidly supported Swindon & Wiltshire Pride on this journey.
We as a team are committed to making sure Swindon & Wiltshire Pride 2020 remains a free and inclusive event, for the
The influence of Pride to educate, embrace and create such a diverse community is incredible, and we need to support and encourage each other.
Stay Proud and have Pride,
help us make 2020 the best one yet.
I'm mad, funny and forgetful but I have heaps of enthusiasm and passion around the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. This and many more qualities and attributes I hope to bring to organising another unforgettable Pride in Swindon.
See you at the event!!
I am the community engagement manager for Swindon & Wiltshire Pride. I've been on the committee for 8 years and my previous role was Parade manager.
I 100% believe in events like these where we can educate, celebrate diversity and help people enjoy themselves without judgement.
The aim of my position is to bring more of the community together, engage with local groups and find ways of giving back to the community.
I've been part of the Pride team since day one, and I am always looking for new ways to help raise funds or develop our current events. I have been so lucky over the years to have a great team behind me, with Miss Bridy's Angels working together with me to raise valuable funds.
So onwards and upwards as Swindon & Wiltshire Pride 2020 is on the horizon!
We had such positive feedback from Swindon & Wiltshire Pride 2019 that I've decided to go again in 2020. With the help of a great supporting team, Penny and I look forward to making the stages at Swindon & Wiltshire Pride 2020 another great success.
I am the Entertainment manager for Swindon & Wiltshire Pride, this will be my second year on the committee.
I am looking forward to the coming months of fundraising and planning for the BIG day. As a committee we certainly have lots of fun and all in aid of a great cause; Pride is an amazing celebration of equality, inclusion and diversity without any judgement.
Here's to Swindon and Wiltshire
This is my second year on the Pride committee as Programme Manager. I am responsible for ensuring the programme is ready ahead of the event, and working with the other managers to collate their information for the programme. I'm also known as Lucy and help the fundraising team throughout the year to raise money towards the event.
Sponsorship & Merchandise
I'm extremely proud to have been selected for this position and to be part of the committee for a second year.
Last year's event was so successful, and we managed to build some great relationships with business's across Swindon & Wiltshire.
This year I hope to develop and build on those relationships whilst also reaching out to others who would be welcomed on board.
With the support of these organisations who all have strong beliefs and solid foundations in the field of equality, diversity and inclusion, we hope to make 2020 even bigger.
I want to thank all the organisations who supported Pride 2019 and shared their support for the LGBTQ+ community of Swindon & Wiltshire. I am truly excited and can't wait to welcome you all back to Swindon & Wiltshire Pride 2020
I joined the pride committee to bring a younger perspective to Swindon & Wiltshire Pride and speak for the younger generation of Wiltshire’s LGBTQ+ community.
I work at a local school and while also attending out of the can LGBTQ+ youth group, I have a deep understanding of what the younger generation want and how they feel while constantly educating myself on the community and the needs of people.
I’m using my free time to organise the entertainment for Swindon & Wiltshire Pride while also putting the input of the younger community into every aspect of the charity and making us feel like we can make Pride happen for 2020 and many years to come!
I moved to Swindon three years ago from Reading. I enjoy scuba diving, travelling and going to festivals.
I joined the committee last year and the reason I wanted to support Swindon & Wiltshire Pride was to try and make Swindon a more inclusive place for people to live and work.
Although it is my first year serving as Swindon & Wiltshire Pride Treasurer,
I have been living and working in the area for 13 years in a corporate financial capacity while being a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
I have a passion for keeping healthy and fit in the gym and in the kitchen, but all bets are off during vacation and cosy nights in with a couple of movies (preferably Melissa McCarthy, Rebel Wilson, most things Sci-Fi or all things fantasy).
Social Media &
I joined the team earlier this year and I’m so proud to continue as social media manager and develop our channels, as we look to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ topics and celebrate the fantastic community we have here in Wiltshire.
I look forward to building on the work we have achieved as a group so far; as we welcome new members to the team, our Pride family is bigger and better and we can’t wait to share our new ideas for the next 12 months.
I am so excited to be part of the Pride team and can't wait to get stuck into all the artwork!
I wanted to get involved because I have attended Pride on a fair few occasions and just love the experience, the colours and the people!
Swindon & Wiltshire Pride 2020 is going to be the best one yet!
I have just joined Swindon & Wiltshire Pride, and am so happy to be part of the team.
I have been making websites for the last 20 years - since I was 11 years old - so I am happy I can give something back to a local charity that I believe in.
I love all things in diversity, equality and inclusivity, as well as fighting discrimination in all of its forms: racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, etc.
I am looking forward to the year ahead and what this new committee can do in the community of Swindon.
I’ve been attending Swindon and Wiltshire Pride as a member of the public for the past 10 years since it launched in 2008.
When I found out there was a need to ramp up volunteers to help make Pride happen for Swindon & Wilts 2019, I knew I wanted to be more involved and give something back to contribute, and now I'm back again for 2020!
I feel it’s so important to be able to continue to hold a Pride event in our region to celebrate and embrace diversity within our community.
