LGBTQ+ youth group for 13-19 years meet in Town Centre of Swindon.
OOTC meets on a Tuesday Evening between 5.30pm – 7:30pm. The group has met in Swindon Town Centre for the last 10 years and is Volunteer Led and funded by various grant applications.
The aim is to provide a safe and secure environment for young people who are unsure or confused about their sexuality / Gender Identity.
If the young person is nervous about coming along to the group then we are happy for a family member or friend to come along as well. During the sessions on a week to week basis, we vary the activities and this is influenced by the young people, choosing topics to discuss or activities to take part in, there are fun sessions as well when we have Pizza and Film nights. Another aim is to ensure the group is relaxed and that the young people have the opportunity to speak with young people (peers) and the Volunteer Leaders.
The group is confidential and has ground rules to ensure that the young people understand the environment.
The age range of the group is 13-19 years old (some of our old literature states 14- 25 years old but a decision was made to lower the upper age).
We welcome new members and would be happy to meet them prior to coming up to the group. All our Volunteers leaders are DBS checked.
If you require more information or would like to arrange a visit to the group please email: Jo Sharpe, Jo Roberts or Fran Adams on: firstname.lastname@example.org
