Volunteers Needed as Swindon & Wiltshire Pride Prepare for Biggest Celebration Yet

Over the last decade, Swindon & Wiltshire Pride has become one of the highlights of

the summer for the town, with last year's celebration of identities attracting huge crowds

to the town. The countdown is well underway for the next instalment on August 10th at

GWR Park, following the news last week that the charity were finalists at the prestigious

2024 British LGBT awards.

The charity is now on the lookout for volunteers to help ensure the event can go ahead,

with organisers inviting the community to help ‘make Pride 2024 a year to remember’.

Mark, Volunteer Manager, said “Volunteers are required from Friday August

9th to Sunday August 11th, and roles may include helping set up and close down the

site, monitoring the gates, supporting stalls and litter picking. Volunteers are the

lifeblood of our event and we appreciate everyone who supports us.”

Acts announced so far include drag star Victoria Scone, Sonia, Livin’ Joy, Cheeky Girls,

Olivier Award nominated Amie Atkinson from SIX the musical plus top tribute act Katy

Paul Stewart, chairperson, said “Volunteering at Swindon & Wiltshire Pride 2024 isn’t

just about supporting an incredible event; it’s about being part of a vibrant, inclusive

community. Your contribution helps make this celebration possible, and being part of

the Pride family.”
