Engaging with local community colleges

Our Volunteer Manager at Swindon and Wiltshire Pride has been out in force the past few weeks engaging with local colleges in our community once again!

You may have seen us pitched up recently at Swindon College, New College Swindon, Cirencester College, Lackham College, Trowbridge and next stop is Chippenham on Wednesday 20th March!

We are proud to work with local colleges and students to raise awareness, educate and encourage them to get involved with volunteering; giving back to the community.

Swindon and Wiltshire Pride are committed to advancing education in equality and diversity and raising the awareness of the public with regard to all aspects of discrimination in society; Including issues & difficulties affecting the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans, queer, plus (LGBTQ+) people.

Being present in our local community, such as attending colleges enables us to enhance education by being able to address questions and queries direct from students in an open and safe space regarding equality and demonstrates that education is applicable to all.

We received such a positive welcome and response from our local college visits and hope we’ve encouraged some volunteers at the same time too!

Volunteers are such a valued and important part of the Pride team who come away with rewarding and invaluable experience.

Swindon & Wiltshire Pride pledge to treat all volunteers and supporters with respect, fairness and good faith.
